Xbox Developer_Direct Confirmed

xbox developer_direct
Today Xbox confirmed the Developer_Direct rumors, and the event will stream live on January 25, showcasing four games (but not Starfield).

We learned today the Xbox Developer_Direct covered in my previous article is real! Which is nice to see since I wanted the event to happen. Let’s review the official information from Xbox posted on their blog today.

Xbox Developer_Direct Details

The Xbox Developer_Direct will stream live on January 25 at 12 PM PST/3 PM EST on the Xbox’s Twitch and YouTube channels. The event will provide “fans with an inside look at some of the games coming to Xbox, PC and Game Pass over the next few months.” Now there isn’t one presenter for the showcase because each developer team will talk about their games. What games? We will get to see the following four games:

  • Redfall
  • Minecraft Legends
  • Forza Motosport
  • Elder Scrolls Online

What will we see during the showcase. According to Xbox its focus is “on big features, extended gameplay showcases, and the latest info for Xbox games launching in the next few months.”

Here’s more information we’ll learn about each game according to the blog post:

Studio Director Matt Firor will unveil 2023’s major Chapter update for The Elder Scrolls Online, including the latest regions of Tamriel to become playable in ESO.

The team at Turn 10 Studios will show off their work regarding Forza Motorsport which has been built from the ground up to push the limits of the Xbox Series X|S. Their talk will include gameplay footage.

Mojang Studios will showcase more information about Minecraft Legends, including information regarding PvP multiplayer and more gameplay footage.

Arkane Austin will show “several minutes” of gameplay for their game Redfall. And they will discuss single and multiplayer gameplay, including combat, various customizations, bosses, and the open world of Redfall, Massachusetts.

What About Starfield?

There will be no information provided about Starfield at the Xbox Developer_Direct. According to the blog post: “To dedicate the proper amount of time for a deep dive into Bethesda Game Studios’ Starfield, a standalone show is in the works.”

When will that standalone show happen? I’m thinking probably March or April 2023, as I think Starfield will probably release in July 2023.
